a well regulated defense establishment, or does it greenlight some guy in new york to out his garage like an armory? >> the supreme court defers on this. they have basically upheld the second amendment. it does give the protections to gun owners, and it makes it somewhat of a moot issue. this is mostly for show right now. it is a diversion -- i'm all for gun-control -- but it will not happen. it is a diversion from what we need to do, which is dealing with issues like debt, the climate, which polish and do not want to deal with. it is a side show. >> i do not think it is a side show when you have massacres like we have had in the last year. not just newtown. justice scalia's opinion actually said that the government is free to regulate the kinds of weapons that people carry. it says that. >> if your therapist thinks you could be a threat to someone, could he or she be required to turn you in? in new york state, yes. >> it is not that he needed a great computer system to figure out a solution, it was common sense. mentally ill people should not have access to guns. criminals sh

making acquisitions. i'm on the lookout for takeover targets. consider the defense industry. we have a ton of earnings reports coming out later this week. the one thing you need to know is that everybody is worried about the budget cuts. when congress reached its deal they postponed the defense cuts by a couple of months. now they are wrangling about how to replace the cuts. this is not going to happen. i do believe that we are going to spend less on defense. that creates a tough dynamic for the big defense contractors, and i thought about this yesterday. this is just an ongoing dilemma for these people. however, these companies do have a lot of money and their balance sheets are generally in terrific shape. if the big defense contractors want to grow their earnings per share, the way to get there is by making earnings in their business. if the big defense contractors are on the prowl, what could be a smart takeover target that is worth investing in? how about atk? this is a $2.15 billion company, so it is not that big, it could be swallowed, that goldman sachs upgraded and even said i

the "huffington post," advocating reducing defense spending so you can spend more money and invest in the united states. the question is in the negotiations in congress over the spending do you see that happening? >> we've got to make it happen. again, it's got to be the voice of the american people that will make it happen. people don't realize that 60% of our discretionary money go to the defense. wewe need and want a strong defense, with you but quite frankly out dateed cold war-era weapons can be taken off the table. there are many, many ways we can save money with defense in our pentagon budget, and never even touch anything that would affect our troops and their benefits and their families or national defense. nothing is off of the table and we have to under that defense can't be off of the table. we have to keep defense on the table as part of the negotiations as we move forward. i cannot accept a plan that's going to cut domestic spending by 8%. but i can look at a plan that looks at waste fraud and abuse cuts in the pentagon that will create jobs in our country and invest

and i do not deny for one second that we've had to take difficult decisions about defense spending in our country. but let me make this point. at 33 billion pounds a year we have the fourth largest defense budget anywhere in the world, and i think it is her important that we make sure we have the right scale and shape of our forces and they have the right capabilities. that is what in the defense review we are investing in drones, special forces, investing more in key and intelligence capabilities making sure that we also have the aircraft we need to make sure we have highly mobile armed forces. i am incredibly proud of what our armed forces do, and because we are balancing their budgets to will be better equipped for the future. >> sixty-eight years ago this sunday than not see concentration and extermination camps auschwitz was liberated. as we mark holocaust memorial day, will the prime minister commit to ensuring that young people in this country always have the opportunity to learn about what took place during the darkest periods in our shared history? will the commend the work o

took a defensive posture on this. i want to show you quickly from our vantage point, this is where it is located actually out on the water. it is a pier that is burning right now and fire crews have to spray water. certainly a lot of access issues and they are bridging in a boat and the coast guard to assist to get this fire fully under control. i want to bring it to you at this point with the crocket fire department. first tell me exactly what is burning here. >> what we have is a very old pier that was once occupied. it is not occupied now. it previously experienced a fire about two years ago. these are the remnants there of and there is still a lot of heavy timbers covered in crease salt and we expect this to burn if we are not able to get lines completely around it. >> this fire does appear to be suspicious given that there was a fire several years ago? >> yes, there are no other sources, there is no electricity and no occupants on the site so it is suspicious and -- suspicious and it will be under investigation. we have no reason to suspect but we will conduct a full investigatio
